As the year comes to a close, we take a moment to reflect on this past year and look to the future at what comes next.
At the beginning of the year we set out to create a collection using only the finest white, the completely natural, soft, double thread ecru and the naturally rich dye, indigo, all made using Organic Cotton grown by this man.
We wanted to make clothes which were sane, affordable, beautiful, that would last and without detriment to the people making them or the planet. It was not to be all about profit
We worked closely with talented artisans to bring the idea into creation, all of whom poured their love and passion into our collection and we bought it life with the help of great friends willing to pose as models for the site and the fashion show, having a lot of fun along the way.
We are starting to get positive feedback from the people who bought those clothes throughout summer but the best by far was from a woman that stopped me in the local town, recognition must have come as we were wearing the same top. Her nearly exact words translate to (as she spoke French!)
« I wanted to say how much I love your clothes, I have washed and worn them all summer and they haven’t moved, the colour, the stitching everything is the same as when i bought them. Usually when i buy clothes at the beginning of summer and wear them as much as I have worn yours they have changed shape or there’s at least a hole starting in the fabric and I have often paid a lot more for them. »
Music to my ears as this is exactly what we set out to do.
Also this year we took on another challenge. Right at the beginning of ‘be natural’ I was told through out the production line that these fabrics and dyes had few limits in it’s creation. From that moment I some how wanted that to be put the test. It came with the meeting of Hélène and
Lila’Lou design. She had inspiring ideas for Mother & Baby being a mother with babies herself, and took up the challenge to create her own fabric designs. Bringing that fabric to life and creating her visions has been just the best experience I could have wished for. Watching the people involved in the making, light up as they are given a new route to express their talents and a special to thanks to Rakesh and his dedication to solve and overcome all obstacles to get it made into what it has become. Something sane and beautiful for the next generation and things all mothers use for their babies at some point or another.
With already two shops in the south of France stocking our brand we have every reason to look forward to what 2019 has in store for us and to start it, a clearance sale to make way for the new on it’s way……

We wish you a very happy, healthy, wealthy & wise 2019
